About the Company
Tysons Limited is a leading Real Estate Consulting Firm in East Africa founded
in 1923 and specializing in offering professional property services in land,
buildings, plant and machinery, fitting and office equipment.
The firm has been offering professional property services for the last
eighty-two years to clients in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Seychelles
and as far as Gambia in West Africa.
Brief History of the Company
| 1923: | Established as a one-man business by George A. Tyson. |
| 1940: | Changed name to George A. Tyson and Partners when the founder of the company invited other professionals to join the Company. |
| 1946-7: | The pioneer of the Company George A. Tyson was elected and served as the Mayor of Nairobi. |
| 1960: | Admission of more partners and incorporation of the company under the name of George A. Tysons & Partners. |
| 1966: | Change of name to Tysons Limited as a Limited Liability Company. |
| 1969: | Due to expansion in business Tysons Limited acquired Kenya Trust Company Limited which is up to now the Property Management subsidiary of the Company. |
| 1972: | The demise of the founder of the Company Mr. George A. Tyson. |
| 1976: | Merger of Tysons Limited with Habenga Corporation. Name changed to Tysons Habenga Limited under the chairmanship of Mr. Peter Habenga Okondo. |
| 1985: | The Company's name reverted to Tysons Limited after Mr. Peter Okondo sold his shares and left to venture into politics. |
| To-date: | Carrying out business under the name and style of Tysons Limited. |
| Subsidiary Company: Kenya Trust Ltd. |

- Valuation Department: The department handles valuation of all
types of fixed and moveable properties including, Land, Buildings,
Plant, Machinery, Mobile Plant, Furniture, Laboratory/Office Equipment
and Stock, e.t.c.
- Property Management: This section deals with the management of

- Negotiating leases with tenants

- Rental income accounting
The above services are provided through our subsidiary company Kenya
Trust Company Limited that is wholly owned and managed by Tysons
Limited.
- Property Development: This department deals with property
development and also carries out feasibility studies for clients who
intend to venture in this field.
- Agency Department: This section deals with selling and letting of
all types of real estate properties.
